Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day1

    Arrival in Sri Lanka — Negombo

    Meet your driver at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Negombo (about 20 minutes). Relax by the beach, stroll the fishing harbour and enjoy a first taste of Sri Lankan seafood.

    Overnight: Negombo

  2. Day2

    Negombo to Sigiriya

    Drive north through coconut country to the Cultural Triangle (about 4–5 hours) with stops along the way. Arrive in time for a village tour or a relaxed sunset at your hotel.

  3. Day3

    Sigiriya Rock & elephant safari

    Climb Sigiriya Rock early, before the heat, to see the frescoes, Mirror Wall and summit gardens. In the afternoon, take a jeep safari to Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, where wild elephants gather.

  4. Day4

    Polonnaruwa, Dambulla & on to Kandy

    Cycle or walk through the ruins of the medieval capital Polonnaruwa, then visit the Dambulla Cave Temple with its painted ceilings and golden Buddhas. Continue to Kandy through spice-garden country (about 3 hours).

  5. Day5

    Kandy — the sacred hill capital

    Visit the Temple of the Tooth, the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya and the Bahirawakanda Buddha viewpoint. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance performance.

  6. Day6

    Kandy to Nuwara Eliya — tea country

    Wind up into the hills past waterfalls and emerald tea estates. Stop at a working tea factory for a tasting, then explore “Little England”, Nuwara Eliya, with its colonial villas and Gregory Lake.

  7. Day7

    Scenic train to Ella

    Board the famous hill-country train at Nanu Oya for about three unforgettable hours through tea plantations, tunnels and misty valleys to Ella (train tickets are subject to availability; we will help you book). Your driver meets you and carries the luggage.

  8. Day8

    Ella, then Yala

    Walk to the Nine Arch Bridge in the morning and enjoy the view from Little Adam’s Peak. After lunch, drive down to the Yala region (about 3 hours) for a late-afternoon arrival.

  9. Day9

    Yala safari and the south coast

    Start at dawn with a jeep safari in Yala National Park, home to one of the densest leopard populations on earth, plus elephants, crocodiles and abundant birdlife. Then drive along the coast to Galle (about 3.5 hours).

  10. Day10

    Galle Fort & departure

    Walk the ramparts of Galle Fort, browse the boutiques and cafés, then take the expressway to Colombo Airport (about 2 hours) for your flight home, or extend your stay on the beach.
